I loved this book! Was sitting on the edge of my chair the whole way through wondering what will happen next. I can really relate to the author and his determination to 'fill in this vacuum' of emptiness by doing something meaningful with his life. Great read - would love to know what happened next...
Breadline is an autobiographical novel by swiss author Alain Dizerens, originally published in French under the name "Casse-crôute". The author takes us from Geneva to the war in Vietnam, back to Switzerland and again abroad to Cameroon to chase lions in Africa. Romantic novel that will take you on a ride through emotions.

About the author
Throughout his life, Alain Dizerens has also worked in kabbutz (Israel) and Hong Kong among other places around the world. After a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and several decades of teaching, Alain Dizerens also presented a variety of "crosstalk kinetic" (dance, electro) performances in Geneva in 1986. He has written other books - Miroir-Temps and l'Arpenteur sidéral among many as well as published a number of photo e-books. Written with a poetic touch, his books quickly absorb the reader in a realistically magical universe, which at the same time never lacks a bit humour.
